Ralph was adopted by one of our Animal Care Attendants in July of 2020. We have enjoyed being able to watch this little ball of fluff grow into a handsome young man in his loving furever home.
"I first met Ralph when I was doing my Veterinary Assistant placement at QHS. He was just a small black puffball with an eye infection. He often got so excited to see you that he would slip and almost dive out of his kennel. I would go in and spent my breaks with him and try to cuddle him, which he had different ideas about. Located in Belleville ON, the QHS is a registered charity that serves all of Prince Edward and Hastings Counties. We are a non-profit organization that is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our community-based shelter provides a safe and caring place for as many as 2,200 sick, abused, neglected and homeless animals each year.

Purrince was adopted through the PetSmart adoption centre here in Belleville last year, and we are so happy to see he didn't waste any time settling into his furever home!
"Good morning. Back in November, we adopted Purrince (now Mr. Pounce) and he is fitting in just perfect!!! He has taken over the house...continues to be very chatty and gets along great with his 2 dog sisters. He’s very wild, runs from one end of the house to the other, and then just drops and rolls over… his character is hilarious and he keeps everyone entertained! Thank you for giving us

Mayor Panciuk delivers much needed funding for new QHS Home
Marilyn Lawrie, QHS Executive Director, Councillor Bill Sandison, Hank Koudsi, Chair, QHS Building Committee, Mayor Mitch Panciuk and Al Bunnett, Vice-Chair, QHS Building Committee
Mayor Mitch Panciuk and Councillor Bill Sandison presented a $50,000 cheque this morning to the Quinte Humane Society’s Building Committee Members Hank Koudsi and Al Bunnett. The contribution is part of a $400,000 commitment from the City of Belleville. Along with this financial commitment, the City has also vowed to provide as much in-kind services as possible to realize a new home for QHS.
